We are currently searching for an appropriate site to build The Walkers Course within one hour of downtown Portland, Oregon in one of the following counties – Yamhill, Marion, Clackamas, or Clark (WA).

The ideal property would be fairly well irrigated and adjacent to a major roadway, such as I-5 or 99W, so we can minimize our resource footprint along with traffic on rural roads.

It is very important to us that The Walkers Course has strong relationships with our neighbors and is a positive entity in the community.

Ideally, we would like to find a site with flat to rolling terrain and some interesting natural features. It is likely, however, that the course will be built on predominantly flat land, such as a former nursery or farm, which will still provide an excellent foundation for the Heathland golf experience.

The optimal soil type at the site will be sandy and well draining, but that might be difficult to find in the area. We are committed to employing the most advanced drainage technology available before capping the course with several inches of sand to create firm conditions throughout the year.

The course will incorporate bunkers, cross-hazards and interesting green contours in the spirit of our Heathland design ethos in order to maximize playing interest on a potentially flattish site.

The Walkers Course will be built on approximately 200+ acres in order to accommodate an outstanding 6,500 yard course, driving range, “Himalayas” type putting green and “short course”, along with a modest clubhouse and comfortable lodging for our out of town members and guests.
